Considering residential and community services programs can be overwhelming. At Manahan, we offer several options to make you and your loved ones comfortable. We are proud to say we have individuals who have been involved in our programs since we opened our doors.
Residential & Respite Services
Our hallmark residential and respite services provide an enjoyable, refreshing and comforting experience not only to the individuals served, but also to their families and friends. The nurturing environment at Manahan is complemented by the beautiful facilities, creating a sense of security and cultivating positive growth for residents and short-term guests. By forming strong peer relationships, our clients gain a sense of autonomy and freedom that fosters confidence and hope for unlimited possibilities.
Residents enjoy daily schedules including relationship building, goal-oriented tasks and sustainable skills that provide a sense of accomplishment and independence. We offer numerous monthly social and educational activities to our individuals and clients in the community. Examples include game night, media tech, kitchen skills, dinner and a movie, ladies and men’s club, dances and holiday gatherings. The experiences offered are enhanced by our trained volunteers.
Our respite services provide options for families who are considering residential living and would like the experience, or need a temporary place for their loved one due to personal reasons such as a vacation, hospital stay or just some relaxation from the stresses of life.
In order to qualify for our residential facility, individuals must be 18-years-of-age and diagnosed with a developmental disability prior to their 22nd birthday.

Community Services
We believe options equal opportunities. The community services program at Manahan increases the choices available to individuals living with developmental disabilities. By creating viable employment and recreation alternatives, individuals can gain independence and fulfill lifelong dreams. The community services staff is able to furnish the essential resources necessary for individuals to live in the community. Participants involved in the community service program are offered personal attention that allows them to learn day-to-day skills, which may include balancing a checkbook, making a pot of coffee or going bowling. This service provides the opportunity for those living with developmental disabilities to find their place in society while learning how to understand and maintain relationships. Throughout the course of the program, individuals are monitored and evaluated in order to establish goals and continue forward progress into sustainable autonomy.
People benefit from our community services program by utilizing Individual Option Waivers in addition to the Level One Waiver.
